Triple Choc stout loaf cake with beer soaked cherries.
Recipe
- 120ml of Saltaire Triple Choc
- 120g of unsalted butter
- 80ml of milk
- 40g of cocoa powder
- 140g of plain flour
- 1/2 tsp of bicarbonate of soda
- 180g of light brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 100g of dark chocolate chips
Method
- Make a small slit in the bottom of a handful of cherries and cover with the Triple Choc stout, ideally overnight but an hour beforehand works too!
- Line a loaf tin and preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius
- Melt the butter, then add it to a bowl with the beer and sugar and whisk until well combined
- Add the milk and eggs and gradually beat in
- Sift in the dry ingredients and add the chocolate chips
- Pour the mixture into the loaf tin and bake for around 35 minutes. A skewer may not come out completely clean due to the melted chocolate but the sponge should spring back when you press down on it.
- Leave to cool, add the cherries and enjoy!
