We're Hiring a Finance Associate!
Saltaire Brewery is looking for a Finance Associate to join our team! This exciting role is key to supporting our Finance department by ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time, completing key reconciliations, and assisting team members with daily tasks. Ideal for someone who loves numbers, thrives in a collaborative environment, and has excellent attention to detail and communication skills. You'll play an important part in maintaining and streamlining our financial processes.
Full-Time/Part-Time Role
Main Duties and Responsibilities
As a Finance Associate, your responsibilities will include:
Purchase Ledger/Nominal Ledger:
- Posting invoices and credit notes accurately.
- Reconciling supplier statements and preparing payment runs.
- Managing credit card purchases and ensuring VAT receipts are obtained.
- Dealing with supplier queries via telephone and email.
Cash/Bank:
- Processing cash and credit card receipts from the Brewery Tap.
- Daily bank reconciliation.
- Managing petty cash transactions and reconciling balances.
- Allocating cash transactions within the accounting system.
Sales Ledger:
- Ensuring sales are accurately captured in our accounting systems.
- Reviewing outstanding orders and following up as necessary.
- Updating customer portals where applicable.
- Assisting with customer queries and supporting the Credit Controller.
Skills
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and listening skills with an excellent telephone manner.
- Strong organisational skills for planning and prioritising work.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Able to respond effectively to changing priorities.
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team is essential.
- Basic understanding of accounting processes and procedures.
Qualifications
- Holding or studying towards a bookkeeping or accountancy qualification is desirable, but you may alternatively be qualified by experience.
Experience
- Experience with accounting software is desirable but not essential.
